Hey everyone!
Just wanted to share with you my 5 tips for thrifting.
1. Have an Open mind
I usually find that when I go thrifting without having anything specific in mind that I find great things. Thrifting can be unpredictable so just go with an open mind. There are some basics that you will find at almost every thrift store but I'm always on the hunt for what's different and unique
2. Go up a size or two
You can always have an item tailored if you really love it. If the pattern and print are exactly what I'm looking for, I will always buy the item. You can do so many things with oversized items so just buy it.
3. Have Time
It usually takes me an hour minimum at thrift stores. I'm pretty good at scanning the aisles for unique things but some stores have so many items that you almost have to go thru each piece to find that gem. Don't go when you will be rushed or pressed for time.
4. Think outside the box
Always think of multiple ways you can potentially wear an item. Just search the hashtag #thriftflip to see the way thrifters are altering/changing items. Shirts can become dresses, skirts, halter tops, etc. The options are endless especially if you think outside the box.
5. Check the sale color of the day or week
Don't forget to look for what's on sale as soon as you go in the store. It's the first thing I do and I usually won't shop for items that are not on sale unless it's a must have.
